Phillip Ely has experience in both coaching and playing at the collegiate and professional level. Most recently he finished his 3rd season as a college football offensive coordinator coaching some of the most explosive offenses in the country. Is a member of the Elite 11 class of 2010. His college quarterback playing career started at the University of Alabama, winning 2 National Championships under Nick Saban (2011 & 2012). From there he went on to play at the University of Toledo leading them to an 11-2 record, top 20 ranking and MVP of Boca Raton Bowl. He has a short career in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans.

Named first team all-state, all-region and all-county in 2008-11. Starting second baseman on the 18 gold ASA national championship team in 2010. Recipient of the EC Bullets Lamont Davis Award in 2010. Helped Buford set a state record for winning five consecutive state championships. Went on to play in 3 Women's College World Series and also winning the SEC Conference in 2014.
